A. Typically it will take 3-6 weeks to toilet train a cat.
Q. Is my cat too young to toilet train?
A. We recommend the cat to be at least three months old and trained to use a litter box before toilet training.
Q. Is my cat too old to toilet train?
A. No cat is too old to toilet train. As long as your cat is healthy and has good litter box habits they can be trained to use the toilet.
Q. Is my cat too heavy to toilet train?
A. The CitiKitty Training Seat holds all size cats. Even cats weighing over 25lbs. Most cats weigh between 10-12lbs.

A. Yes, both clawed and declawed cats can be toilet trained.
Q. Can I train multiple cats at the same time?
A. CitiKitty has had customers train up to 4 cats at the same time. When training multiple cats you need to progress through the training at a pace comfortable for the slowest adapting cat. Toilet training multiple cats at the same time is more difficult however it holds a greater reward.
CitiKitty recommends training multiple cats on the same number of toilets as you currently have litter boxes. (Ex. 2 Litter Boxes = train your cat on 2 toilets with 2 CitiKitty's)

A. CitiKitty recommends training your cat on the same number of toilets that you currently have litter boxes. If you have one litter box for your cat(s) train your cat(s) on one toilet. If you have two litter boxes for your cat(s) train your cat(s) on two toilets.

A. Yes, the training seat is designed to fit standard toilets including elongated toilet bowls and international toilets.

A. Yes, CitiKitty recommends using flushable litter during training. CitiKitty recommends Arm & Hammer® Easy Flush® Cat Litter & World's Best Cat Litter®. This type of litter can be found at your local pet store.
Q. Should I be concerned about flushing my cats waste?
A. The US Environmental Protection Agency recommends that pet waste be flushed down the toilet allowing waste to be properly treated by sewage treatment plants and septic systems. Not properly disposing of pet waste increases public health risks by allowing harmful bacteria and nutrients to wash into storm drains and eventually into local waterbodies.
Q. My cat will be having surgery soon. Should I train them now?
A. We recommend beginning the training after your cat has fully recovered from their surgery.
Q. Will litter fall into my toilet during training?
A. The CitiKitty Training Seat was designed with ridges to prevent litter from falling into the toilet during training.
Q. After the training is complete will I need to keep CitiKitty my toilet?
A. No, the CitiKitty training method was designed to teach your cat to use a regular toilet with no training device. After you have completed the training you will no longer need to keep the training device on your toilet.
